How did someone come back from the dead and act like nothing had happened, she had no idea. Everything that she had been told since she had returned made her head spin, the last memories she had were just as she had started her 6th year when she entered the halls. The changes both scared and amazed her to no end, how the halls and school had changed and stayed the same. How her teachers had aged and made her feel odd how they spoke about her, how they looked at her it alone made her shudder and feel like an animal that people stared at while they were at the zoo, never a good feeling she thought and shook her head.
Looking around her room she sighed, the girls were nice but she knew she was out of place. She had felt that way since she had walked in and seen the looks she was given, cloths that she would have died to even think of herself in at first. She had found herself in them anyway though and started her schooling here, adjusting quickly she believed that she had done well even though she had avoided everyone as best that she could. She liked being alone these days, it let her feel almost normal again.
Grabbing her robes she slipped them on and walked down the halls her eyes ahead, she took short steps as she made her way outside, she wanted fresh air and wanted to be alone. Opening the door she slipped out into the courtyard and looked around, she hummed quietly and sat down in the bench glad that the area was empty she laid back and sighed crossing her legs as she stared at the evening sky. She had wanted to call her parents when she had gotten here and head home and yet she had learned they were dead the pain that ripped through her chest at the news had been heart breaking and she had yet to find James.
Keeping her eyes on the clouds she didn’t pay much attention as she closed her eyes, she sighed and breathed in slowly before she exhaled and rubbed her leg before she heard a sound and froze “whose there?” she called out her voice soft and yet gentle as she looked around but didn’t see anyone so she just put her head back down but she kept listening for the sound or at least someone’s voice to say that she was not alone anymore she thought.

| Charity walked out into the open air still trying to get used to how the chill of the Scotland could hit at that time of day. It burned against her uncovered lips reminding her that fall was underway and that sooner rather than later it would be scarf and water resistant charmed cloaks.
Bloody hell why can’t I be sixteen in Tahiti.. FUCK I’d give my left foot to be in Tahiti..
She thought miserably as she wrapped her cloak tightly around her. Charity remembered the time she spent in the little bungalow in Tahiti. It was 2 two bedroom off the coast the smell of salt and wild jasmine everywhere it smelled of what she thought of Summer.. It was the exact opposite of…
Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Jumping back a fraction she winced as a sheep scurried past her looking down she realized she had just stepped right into a piping pile of Sheep poop..
“REALLY? REALLY FUCKING SCOTLAND AND THEIR FUCKING SHEEP.”
Her little outburst of course caused the current fowl sheep to saunter off quickly. Scowling down at her now ruined shoe she swore again not as quietly as she began to scrap the guck off in dead grass. Stomping off towards in the direction lake she paused long enough to use a cleaning spell removing the rest of the guck. Her brown hair hastily knotted on top of her head wild wisp blowing around her face her hazel eyes looking more stormy gray reflection her current mood and the color of the day which in Scotland during the next couple of months would be gray, gray, and more fucking cold ass gray.
Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…. She winced as she heard another sheep call, looked up in time to see a hippogriff run past and head butt the offensive sheep at least 6 feet in the air. She stopped in shock as well it was something to see.. IT wasn’t everyday one would see a hippogriff, Sheep were common as sodding flies but hippogriff using one in a manner one would play with a beach ball was amusing as hell particularly the one that was just served was likely the one that had gotten shit on her shoe.
She was in the process of cheering on the Hippogriff in hopes of seeing perhaps a round two.. When she spotted Hagrid waddling up over the hill wagging what appeared to be a dead weasel, calling for a Muffy.. Which she didn’t doubt was the Hippogriff.
Remembering their 3 hour long conversation with her being trapped on his couch with a tray full of the most disgusting cookies offered holding her hostage as he apparently felt the need to feed her on their little visit. Not being able to even think of what was waiting in that cauldron for dinner she opted to do the slightly less than honorable thing and quickly as she could slither back down that hill well more like the the west side of the slope where she found a small path leading back to the court yards where she saw a twinge of red hair.. She didn’t need a second glance to know exactly who belonged to that head of crimson.. She groaned debating the cauldron and plate of cookies again.. Sadly it was too late she was heard, and she couldn’t slink out without being a complete and total bitch.
“relax its just me.. “ she said flatly… “Let the lovely un-dead unite.. Yayyyy”

She knew that she was not the only one who had been brought back and she was not the only one who was having adjustment issues, that did not mean she was about to invite them over for tea. They may all have the same thing in common, yet they were all very different in other ways. The people that they had been and become, the memories that had come and gone with the returned it was all startling. Yet she had no desire to ruin the memories of those people that she had cared about in the past to see who or what they had become in the future. When you died, as she had been told she had been you were supposed to stay dead and not come back as a teenager with those memories and life lessons taken from you.
Looking up at the voice she paused as she recognized the face “Charity” the name came soft from her lips as she sat up and paused and watched the young teen. From the same seven years she had known Charity off and on since they had both entered the school. Severus a common factor between them that had made things odd, looking at her when she spoke she simply sighed and shook her head long red hair flowing freely over her shoulders as her eyes met hers and she smiled lightly “eat any good brains lately?,” she asked her to try and lighten the mood between them.
She didn’t know how Charity had passed on, nor was it her place to ask. She could simply be pleasant to the woman in front of her and see what happened. Eyes meeting hers she paused and nodded, “It’s nice to see a familiar face, how are you doing?” she asked her softly. They had issues yes and she knew that things would never be perfect but she could at least be pleasant to Charity and see what would happen before this became a mess if it ever did.
“How many others? any idea?” she asked her voice soft, Charity was smart and she believed would pick it up quickly. She wondered just how many were really brought back. That someone would play such a dangerous game by playing god and brining those who had died back. Something that as far as she knew had never happened before, the changes that came that were not yet known she believed the man had made a big mistake even if she had a second chance to live and to perhaps be happy again she thought as she sighed and ran a hand through her hair and sat up and looked at Charity as she waited for her to speak.

| There was complete familiarity in the way that Lily had said her name. That edge of confusion missing that one used when they were speaking to a stranger.
Honestly part of her hoped that Lily Evans did not remember. Life would be so much easier if they could perhaps start with a clean sweep, on a playing field where past grievances did not taint perception, and damage opinions.
Sadly fate was cruel, and where they might be starting a fresh physically, mentally that was not the case. Lily knew exactly whom she was talking to just as Charity knew without a doubt that the red headed girl standing before her was the Lily, and as one might be able to set aside a dislike, jealousy was something completely different, nothing like the steadfast iron like hold of Envy to weaken even a normally strong person.
Charity sucked in a breath about to say something unkind about not being a babysitter of their kind. Charity quickly reminded herself that Lily did not mean anything of it that the girl was simply confused and curious.
Which naturally made Charity feel guilty for her initial thoughts hating the fact that one person could reduce her to the role of ‘Bitch’ was the one person who could potentially be a decent friend in this seriously messed up world that they both been plopped head first in. Why did Severus have to love you?
Her mind pondered rudely, still even after pain, anguish and death it still boiled down to that simple fact that she could not be the ‘one’ for the only man that could be her ‘one’.
Her cold hazel eyes took on a rather icy gleam as she stared down at Lily as she was all but slapped with the resolution that Lily Evans was not some mythical goddess that could enchant the hearts of men.. She was simply Lily and for whatever reason that was enough for Severus to dismiss everyone else. She had wasted her life on that sad notion that literally broke threw to her in seconds now as she looked back at Lily.
”Decent Brains.. You do know we are Hogwarts right… Hate to break it to you Evans but the blasted sheep might be more of a worthy specimen than some of the inhabitants of the school.. Sadly the expectation has not risen much sense we were originally here..”
She frowned realizing what she had said her remarks sounding very much like the sort of thing she would say to other professors and then her mind flickered to Sprout and her little quip at finding a bloody tutor..
Hope she ends up eating that feather singing cactus.. Vicious Cow..
“Sadly I now get to include myself in the equation.. Apparently my lovely lack of talent with plants has seen fit to follow me into the bloody here after.. “ She frowned glaring at the lake.. Well Evans be thankful I’m not your only hope for these ‘happy’ chats. No dearest the list is considerable.. You have Sirius.. “ she chuckled slightly at that and her nose wrinkled but the mischievous smile faded as the thought of the other came to mind.. ”and Severus.. the last part added shortly as if the very word caused her pain.

She had known that Severus had cared about her and in ways she had cared about the man herself. He had been a friend who had always been there and had always been a comfort, yet she had felt them slowly being pulled apart when he had started to change, when he had lost who had been when he had been younger. The man who had made her realize that magic was there and not to be afraid of what she was going to become, without him she knew that she would have been someone completely different from who she had become she thought and sighed softly.
Yet she had known that someone else had cared for him at one time, someone she had known cared and she had hoped he would give his attention to the young woman who fancied him, yet he had never given her the time that she had deserved. Charity had been someone that she had neither liked, nor clearly disliked and sometimes even pitied when she had seen the pain she had tried to hide well, the two had never been friends but she would never call them enemies either. Instead she tried to find the middle ground, the one that allowed them to co-exist and find peace with each other with…some luck as they could speak openly without killing each other.
Hearing the remarks she paused as she shook her head, “never one to mense words are you?” a faint smile crossed her lips as she sighed and shook her head as her red hair fell over her eyes sighed softly and looked at her “People learn and grow Charity, they have things that we never imagined when we were children or even as a young adult from what I have been told. In many this is a game of cat and mouse, I am the hungry cat and the people here are the mice I have to catch” raising a hand she brushed her hair from her eyes and shook her head.
“Just because they are back, doesn’t mean I will seek them out” her words were soft as she looked away, she meant Severus more than anyone. The two had been close at one point but that closeness was no longer there and she had no idea if she could feel that way again “considering how we parted company with my last memories, I am quite sure he would rather poke his eyes out with hot pokers she thought and shook her head and looked at the young woman her eyes soft as she paused. “Perhaps a more friendly face like yours would be a comfort to him, it would allow you to catch up on old times” her voice was soft spoken as she looked at the woman.
