it's astounding time is fleeing.
This was certainly going to prove interesting. Hogwarts was probably one of James's favorite places – his home away from home... and now his only home really. What did he have to go to? He clearly remembered that his parents had passed in his previous life. He felt like an orphan all over again. But he kept his chin up. He'd known people who had gone through worse. This would be a piece of cake. Ooo, cake. That sounded delicious. Maybe he should have headed toward the kitchens instead of the lawns, but the massive yard that belonged to Hogwarts was where his feet had started taking him. He had briefly thought about going to the Whomping Willow, for old times' sake and because he was slightly curious as to whether the Shrieking Shack looked the same, but that was a trip that he needed to take with a couple of other people. James wasn't afraid of going alone, but it felt wrong to go without Sirius or Remus. He knew they had both been pulled through the veil with him, so a trip to their little hideout could wait for them to all get together.
There were a couple of other places outside he could have gone if he was in need of some fresh air, but the Lake was crowded, or at least it always was back when he was a student for the first time, and the Greenhouses felt too... schooly. Was that a word? Well, it was now. And it was exactly the kind of word that James didn't want to have applied to him. He'd grown up, but he wasn't all about classes. He didn't think anything could change him that much.
The dark-haired boy found a quiet spot and sat down. He wasn't usually one to look for quiet, but a lot had happened in what felt like a short time and there were things to be sorted out. Maybe he didn't want to figure anything out. Would it be better that way? What if he found out that this was all temporary. Then again, it would only make sense if this wasn't going to last. What if he did something to screw the future up? Of course, his main concern with that was that he'd alter the future somehow and it would cause him to not be with Lily. He was a little smug at the moment because he knew that during his original seventh year she'd actually said yes to going out with him. He wondered how much of their first life Lily remembered. Maybe she could fill in some blanks since he didn't remember anything after his original seventh year. And why did he remember that year when he was apparently stuck in his sixth year?
It was all confusing. James decided to put it out of his mind for the moment and just be. That was something he was good at. With no homework, or no intentions of doing any homework, James decided that now was a time to just go with whatever happened. So he lied back and put his hands behind his head to look at the sky.

CRACK IN THE SHUTTERS G laring up at the sky Charity hissed a rather offensive word, and gave an equally offensive look back over her shoulder at the Greenhouse that she had just exited from. Honestly She thought Pomona was a friend, and naturally as 'friends' whom had up till her untimely demise had sat in Pomona's quarters listening to Pomona voice her whiny complaining tone drone on and on about her various health concerns. They were friends they had even exchanged festive scarfs at holiday.[break][break] BLOODY HELL She called me Charity.. well at first than it was Miss. Burbage as if I’m like the sodding rest of these teen spirit coated puss pockets!. HELL WE WERE ON THE FIRST NAME BASES FOR MORE THAN A DECADE!! Seething with intense resentment Charity had mistakenly assumed that there would be a understanding among cherished friends, and Pomona would extend a professional courtesy and take her on merit, rather than actually expect her to perform at a student level, and actually take her sodding little placement test.[break][break] She didn’t know exactly what she was more brassed off about? It could be either the sheer fact that Pomona had asked for the sodding placement exam, or the realization that after taking the sodding exam she would require a tutor for the sodding class to work at the seventh year level. Then it could be the cherry on the bullocks sundae that Pomona had offered her a consolation gift.. Her very own firey ‘Ziziphus Celata’ or what she would from here on out would refer to as ‘firey pain in my ass plant’ that would now was attempting to un-pot itself again which meant if she remembered the rubbish coming out of Pomona ‘s lips that it was thirsty and trying to go for a sodding drink.[break][break] “Just what I need to fit in with my fellow hormonal puss heads a sodding plant that can occasionally be found taking a drink out of the Gryffindor’s Loo THANK YOU POMONA… I’ll make sure I return the gesture at holiday and get you your very own fun festive membership to the douche of the month club.. you weathered ol bi___________________” Nearly choking on the words as she spotted a bit off but still within ear shot to her little tirade of vulgarity a bit of an eerie blast from the past. [break][break] She was no longer a sixteen year old girl, well not mentally at least, but something’s had not changed in the decades that had transpired since their years at Hogwarts, or even in the time of his untimely demise. She still on sight stopped and took notice. What stood before her was the once again teenage vision James Potter. [break][break] Once upon a time there was awkward gawking but that was more for Sirius benefit than Potters. She stood still once more but more out of shock than actual being awe struck.. Looking at him brought so much back to her thoughts things she had swept away, with the promise not to think of again.. It was like seeing him had forced her to recognize that those truths still linger. Looking upon James's face she could almost hear the howls of laughter as Severus swung by his feet his dingy under clothes and skinny legs revealed to all. She remember the sickening dread she felt as she watched Lily spring into action.. Then the guilt at feeling of elation she felt when Severus called her a mudblood.. Still to this day her own feeling over that moment haunted her. The sheer fact that she would condone that action or excuse it… It was a sickening truth, but then again they all had their weakness and hers was Severus Snape.. [break][break] Yes, but remember what HE got you Charity.. REMEMBER what loving that man got you… She couldn’t hide the uncomfortable look on her face or the slight grimace that flickered across her delicate features as she looked down at James Potter. [break][break] A hello is custom.. Don’t expect him to say it first memory serves he was always a bit of a ponce.. Siri was the charmer… Caught up on what exactly customary for a greeting to another person who was probably like her. Struggling with obtaining their place in a world that had continued on without them. She hadn’t noticed the sodding pain in the bum plant had taken to trying to wrench itself out of the pot by use of the hem of her skirt that was now inappropriately high thigh level in the back where it was revealing a bit of demure silk slip that was pale pink. You alright there Mr. Potter.. Said in a very similar way she often spoke to his son. Whom he currently looked a bit like lying down there looking innocently up from the ground. You look far away. Everything ol right? Her large hazel eyes searching his face for evidence of pain or panic in case she needed to send for Pomfrey. |
