There is typically not a day that goes by in which the world is safe from one of the infamous Weasley pranks. Mostly Fred's family members are the victims of the pranks but sometimes he branches out and goes for strangers. Only, though, when he's feeling daring. Everything is testing out on the twins first before other people though. Even if Fred seems a bit relentless sometimes there is not a cruel bone in his stocky body. As for being with George it's just a plain given that he enjoys being with his twin. George was with Fred for a longer time period than anyone in the world, and that was a bond that could never be broken. Of course this never saves George from being the victim of Fred’s solo pranks. Recently he has not pranked his twin though due to a prank gone wrong the last time. Fred had mixed up a love potion and a morphing potion. Instead of George turning into a pygmy puff, he fell madly in love with Fred. Needless to say it was a bit scarring and Fred will never forget the time his twin tried kissing him due to the potion. He doesn’t tell that story much. [break] Fred's other weak spot other than his brother is of course his love for the females. Freddie likes all females really. Any girl who catches his eye is bound to be a victim of his incessant flirting. Though he has not had all that many girlfriends he enjoys having them and focusing on one woman. Recently he has wanted a girlfriend more, because being honest company gets a little dull when it’s mainly just your twin brother. However, he is picky when it comes to women and ends up just flirting mainly unless someone he is really attracted to comes along. Commitment makes him a bit nervous, but once he is over that initial fear it is not a problem. If not a girlfriend then possibly just a female companion. He already has his fair share of man friends. Sometimes he is a bit overbearing for girls though and has a hard time of knowing when he is going to far whether it is teasing or fighting. One of his downfalls is being a bit hot tempered at times and it lands him in some sticky situations. While on the subject of girls, Fred always had found himself rather attracted to Hermione. Her wit was probably the sexiest thing about her. He was torn though between the closeness of her to the family in that she was almost like a sister to him. It was a very confusing thing he didn’t talk about much. Of course the attraction just made him tease her a bit more than he probably would normally. However, though the attraction existed at times he did not see it ever leading to anything other than him occasionally pestering her. Fred often flirts around her hoping in the back of his mind to spark some kind of jealousy from her. He knows though, that it is a complete shot in the dark. He never knew of her having any feelings for him other than annoyance and that was probably for the best. He guessed Ron’s feelings for her (even though his brother was bloody awful at conveying those feelings), and therefore would never make a move for the sake of his brother. Fred was rather happy for them when they finally got together. [break] Wizard’s chess is one of Fred's favorite games although he has not won many. Ron is probably the best one in the family at the game and Fred tries to avoid playing against him. When he does though, it can be assumed that Fred usually tries to cheat. Fred has tried everything from reversing the board so he was winning to attempting to hex the game overall. Even while cheating, Fred generally loses at Wizard’s chess. It’s just not his thing. [break] Quidditch is a game that Fred has played his whole life and playing for the school was probably his favorite part of Hogwarts (next to the pranks). He first hopped on a broom when he was very young. His parents had bought he and his twin little toy brooms for holiday and once Fred got on it was like he never got off. He rode the broom everywhere and anywhere he could. When he was a year or two older he would make teams with his siblings (even trying to get little Ginny in on the fun now and then) and play Quidditch until the sun was no longer in the sky. They even tried playing in the dark a couple of times but that only led to broken noses and bruises. Fred learned his lesson after a black eye and broken nose and took to only playing Quidditch in the light. He misses those games at home because with Percy and Bill gone and busy, and while he and George not are living home the games are far and few between anymore. [break] There is a secret that Fred has, and he is not even sure if George knows about it. It is not a big secret at all but it is one that he just doesn’t talk about. When Fred was younger he looked up to Percy more than anyone. Sure Bill was a close second because of how adventurous and daring he was. Bill influenced Fred a lot too, but with Percy it was different. Percy was brilliant, and Fred always envied that brilliance. Especially when the brilliance led to him being Prefect and Head Boy. (Fred secretly wished he had tried more for this, especially because of how disappointed his mother was) It was easier to make fun of Percy though than outwardly envy him, especially when Percy was gloating (which happened quite often honestly). Percy became the target of many of Fred’s pranks but it was really just out of love…. Well, sometimes out of annoyance too. Fred had a lot of fond memories though with Percy and though he is someone of a prat, Fred will forever love his over brother to death. He wants his family to be whole again and without Percy it would truly never happen. [break] Potions class was one of the only classes that Fred never fell asleep in or missed. Though Snape was the biggest downfall of the class it truly was the most interesting. Fred and his twin benefitted much from the class in learning how to create their own potions... which are currently used for the prank candies and other prank items. What Fred really loved most about the class though, was when things blew up. Who doesn’t love a good explosion, right? [break][break] Fred, like most people, wants to make money. It was always a sensitive topic for him. The business isn’t completely about money for him at all, and it is not what he thinks about daily. However, for his family, he wants the business to be successful. It bothers him to think that his brother and he are strutting around the store in flashy suits while his younger siblings are stuck with hand-me downs. Those, being another thing he disliked all his life. Seriously, who would enjoy wearing the clothes Percy picked out? [break] One person who Fred Weasley truly hates is none other than Draco Malfoy. Obviously the feeling was mutual though in that the Malfoys thought of the Weasleys as blood traitors. There were many reasons why Fred hates Draco, but he was the only person Fred actually hated. Most of the hate was for things Draco has said or done to his family, Harry, and Hermione. When he found out Hermione had punched him he just about wanted to kiss her. Fred is weary of the boy though always knowing what kind of a man he would grow up to be. Just like his father, a slimy pathetic excuse for a man. [break] The war was one of the things that truly scared Fred. For good reason too, considering the loss of his life. Other things like spiders and snakes don’t bother him much because they made for some good pranks. Death and loss, however, aren’t that much of a joking subject. It bothers him much more than he’ll ever let on. [break] Any remark against Weasleys Wizard Wheezes is a remark that would probably lead to a black eye if Fred happened to hear (from the boxing telescope of course). The shop was not just jokes (though that was the best part of the shop obviously) and there were many other ideas in development that people did not know about. For example, defensive objects were becoming a popular product with the scare of you-know-who and all. It annoyed Fred to no end to hear comments about the store being childish, because they were often the same people flocking to buy the defensive items once they hit the shelves. Hypocrites really. [break] The only remarks tolerated about Weasleys Wizard Wheezes are the ones from his family. More than anything Fred wants to make his mother proud ... and though she has become a bit more accepting (if you could call it that) of his shop, it is not the kind of acceptance he is longing for. Even when his mother visits the shop Fred cannot help the overwhelming anxiety that bubbles up in him when she does. He wants everything to be perfect and usually stays one step ahead of her straightening the shelves and tidying up whatever he can. Fred knows she still wishes he had stayed in school and done something else with his life, something more respectable. Fred couldn’t understand though why his business wasn’t respectable though. It made people laugh and that was something the world was going to need forever, especially now more than ever. All a child wants is their mother’s love, and Fred Weasley was no exception. He is determined to prove to her that what he is doing is worth it and the success of his business will help. [break][break] Of the twins Fred is the more hasty, outgoing, and sarcastic. He is heartless when pranking someone who deserves it, and almost everything he does is for a laugh. Making people laugh is one of the highlights of his life. He does have a serious side although it is rarely present unless needed. Serious events are never something Fred enjoys, because they’re almost always bad. His sense of humor is a way of escaping the world at times and since it is what he is most known for he takes much pride in it. He uses humor to ease himself and others during hardships to relax. Fred is also more of an instigator than George is, especially when it comes to annoying family members…such as Ron. [break] School wasn’t really his thing and when he wasn’t cutting class he worked on his inventions for the shop. He doesn’t miss school and does not regret the decision to leave for the store. However, just because Fred didn't like school does not make him unintelligent. It's quite the opposite really. In ways he's rather brilliant. Although many believe he was dimwitted, he simply didn’t have the motivation or concern to excel like his brothers had. It didn’t appeal to him in the way it had to them. Contrary to popular belief though he had good marks at a point in his life. In the beginning of his years at Hogwarts his marks were just as good as his brothers before him. [break] When it comes to favors Fred is an extremely grateful person and truly never forgets. Fred will spend his life in debt to the person until he feels they are even. Harry Potter is the perfect example of a person in which Fred feels indebted to. Since Harry gave them money in order to start up their joke shop, Fred has felt the need to pay him back somehow. [break] Secretly Fred is a romantic and through the exterior of flirting and banter he can be truly sincere. Once he fancies someone he will pursue them for as long as he has to or, until they deck him out of annoyance. He is extremely loyal to all of his friends and family. Surprisingly, he is also a very good secret keeper, except for if the secret has to be kept from George. That’s just about impossible.. [break][break] Some History[break][break] Fred was born on April 1, 1978. It is an extremely fitting day for him and his twin, the infamous pranksters of the wizarding world. Throughout his entire life, family surrounded him. He has three older brothers, Charlie, Percy, and Bill. His best friend is his twin, George. Fred's younger siblings are Ginny and Ron. Out of his entire family his favorite is of course George, but Ginny is a very close second. Don't tell the rest of the family though! Fred tends to prank Ginny the least out of the family and Ron and Percy the most. He only pranks Ginny the least though because she scares him a little. Just like her mother that one. He believes that he was named after his mother’s brother Fabian, but never met him since he died. Even though he feels he was named after Fabian, his middle name is that of his mothers other brother, and Fabian’s twin, Gideon. Fred takes extreme pride in being name after his uncles. [break] As far back as he could remember Fred loved being mischievous. His favorite memory was turning Ron’s stuffed bear into a giant spider after his toy broom was broken. It probably explains why Ron isn’t too fond of spiders today. Whoops. When Fred and his twin got into Hogwarts it was pretty much his job to create chaos and schemes in which to prank others. One of his favorite people to prank is of course, Filch. With the help of Peeves and George his time at Hogwarts was extremely successful in pranking and creating mischief. Another one of his fonder memories was setting off the dung bomb with George under Aunt Muriel’s chair. No one really misses her at the family dinners anyway. Although he left school Fred still takes great pride from being sorted into the Gryffindor house. He feels that his mark was certainly left in the school along with George for being the masters of mischief. Right now he loves his joke shop and the flat above it. He would never change the decision he and George made to open it and takes great pride in it. [break] When entering Hogwarts Fred was sorted into the Gryffindor house along with his twin George. His family had been Gryffindors and he felt a relief that he would be joining along with the rest of his family. They started their mark as pranksters and stole the Marauders Map from Filch in that first year. It was put to good use in learning every nook and cranny of the school before giving it to Harry in his time of need. Besides, they already knew everything they needed to about the school and practically had it memorized by the second year. During his second year he and his twin became beaters on the Quidditch team and were described as human bludgers. It was all the practice he had as a child though and it clearly paid off. He wanted to go professional at one point, but wanted the joke shop more. During his early years at Hogwarts he achieved extremely good grades but realized his love for potions and inventing his products shortly after Harry Potter and the trio came to Hogwarts. However, in his later years he only earned about three owls in the subjects he truly cared about. School no longer mattered to him in his later years and eventually during the time of Umbridge he felt as if he and his twin outgrew their education. [break] Fred made friends with Potter and helped him out when it was needed. He was thrilled when Harry joined the Quidditch team and knew that he would be the thing they needed to win the Cup that year. When the twins got the money for the joke shop from Harry he knew he would have to repay him someday. They allow Harry to take whatever he wants without charge and Fred still feels extremely in debt to the younger boy for helping him out. [break] They were famous in the school for being the pranksters and they proudly continue to hold their name there. In the school the twins managed to set up a joke shop in an old unused bathroom and still supply the school with their pranks. Fred had a strong relationship with Peeves the ghost and thought he was truly brilliant. Peeves liked him as well, and though Fred did fall under the occasional prank of the ghost, he was hardly ever the target. The ghost was one of the things he truly would miss about Hogwarts. [break] Fred shares all of his thoughts and feelings with George and it would be hard not to. His bond with his twin is stronger than anything he has ever known and wouldn’t know what to do without him. There isn’t many times when his side except for when he is going to the toilet perhaps one can find him without his brother. Fred doesn’t get mad at George often and when he does it’s usually resolved quickly and easily fixed, usually with a prank war or something of the sort. [break] Fred loves his mother as much as a son can, but they butt heads often. He is disappointed at how his mother lacks faith in him when it comes to the joke shop. Fred knows she doesn't think it is a suitable or respectable job for the two of them. There is a small part of him that is jealous of his other brothers for being prefects and head boys because they got some of Molly’s love that he didn’t. He strives to be extremely successful and succeed to get the attention of his mother along with his own personal benefit of having the shop. This doesn’t stop him though from annoying her and being a complete pain when he has the chance though. Fred knows that she’ll always love him no matter what and he takes complete advantage of it. [break] Percy is another one of Fred’s favorites to bother. His favorite nickname for him is of course, Weatherby. He generally steers clear of teasing Bill and Charlie. Fred respects Bill a lot, and Charlie could knock him a good one if he wanted. There still is an occasional pestering to be done to them though. It is hard for him to resist really. [break] The war was a difficult time for Fred. Dying was certainly not on his to do list. He didn't see the debris from the wall when it hit him, but he sure felt it. One of the last sensations Fred remembers is the impossible pressure on him and the fear that he would be leaving without his twin. It was a selfish feeling, but he had never been anywhere without his brother before. His heart beat rapidly in his chest before it stopped beating all together and then there was nothing. [break][break] The Return [break][break] There was something again what felt like moments later. The first person he saw was the last person he expected, and that was Percy. Fred never loved his brother more than in that moment. The confusion he felt overwhelmed him though. What had happened? Fred later learned about the discovery to bring wizards back if they had been murdered by the hand of another. He was sat down and told this information in detail. It was one of the most serious moments in Fred's life. He had died, and he just barely remembered it. Fred learned of Percy's guilt and how his brother risked his career to get him back. Percy completely went behind the Ministry's back to return his brother. It was really touching, but Fred was in too much shock to feel any emotions at all. He had died. He really could not get it out of his head. Percy told him everything about how he came back, and none of it made any sense to Fred at all. Bringing people back from the dead seemed like impossible, but apparently nothing is impossible anymore. |
